Magdalena Gomez is best known as a poet and performer; a vanguard member of the Nuyorican Literary Movement in the 1970's. Magdalena is also a playwright, teaching artist, producer, director and journalist.
In October of 2006 she began a conversation with the Co-President of the Latino Breakfast Club in Springfield, Massachusetts, H. Edgar Alejandro. Magdalena told Mr. Alejandro (a total stranger) of her vision to begin the first and only Latin@ theater in Springfield, MA. That was the beginning of Teatro V!da (the other TV). Magdalena continues to create venue for otherwise marginalized artists of all ages. Together they are part of a new and exciting arts movement in Springfield, a city that she predicts will become on of the most exciting arts cities in the U.S.
